About Yoga and Its Benefits

Hatha Yoga Classes Peterborough

Improve Your Mental & Physical Well-being

Centuries old, Yoga is the original self help and empowerment system, its benefits are far reaching from physical, to mind, and emotions. Its methods used widely in modern health and wellbeing.

Yoga invites a unity, a reconnection of the whole person: body, breath, mind, and spirit.

Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the most classical form of Yoga and taught as a holistic (whole person) practice. Ha means Sun & Tha means Moon - the aim being to work with opposites, learning how to create a more balanced person.

What's included in Hatha Yoga Classes?
  • Typically classes are slow paced
  • They explore the broad subject of Yoga, which is more than the poses
  • Some classes also include Chair Yoga which means there are options to use a chair instead of sitting or lying on the floor, and to use the chair for support e.g. in a balance pose
  • Settling time at the start of the class, some warming up movements, leading to standing and seated poses, and ALWAYS a lengthy, guided relaxation at the end of each class
  • Sometimes Yoga breathing techniques (called Pranayama), or philosophy, or meditation

Class levels are described as Beginner or Intermediate
  • Beginners is "from scratch" for anyone who has never been to a Yoga class before,
  • Intermediate includes a broad spectrum of options, including more strenuous ones and is best suited to those who have at least 6months regular Yoga practice.
